Technical & Security

Is my data secure?

We take data security seriously. Project Datum is served over HTTPS and uses standard web security protections (including secure cookie and CSRF protections). Production data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database on Render. Render Postgres provides encryption at rest (AES-256) and encryption in transit (TLS) for external connections.

During beta, we're continually improving security controls and hardening our configuration. If you have specific security questions (or need a security overview for your organization), contact us.

Where is my data stored?

Application data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database hosted on Render's infrastructure. Render provides encryption at rest (AES-256) and TLS for connections to the database.

If you need details like region, retention, backups, or high-availability configuration for your workspace, we can provide those specifics to approved customers/beta participants on request.

Do you back up the database?

Yes. Render continuously backs up paid Render Postgres databases and supports point-in-time recovery (PITR). The recovery window depends on the Render workspace plan (for example, 3 days on Hobby and 7 days on Professional+).

Do you have redundancy / high availability?

Render supports PostgreSQL High Availability (HA) for eligible instance types and also provides reliability features like read replicas and point-in-time recovery. HA is enabled by configuration and may vary by workspace.

Are you SOC 2 / ISO 27001 compliant?

Render (our hosting platform provider) documents compliance with security frameworks such as SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001.

Project Datum's own security program and controls are evolving during beta. Contact us if you need vendor/security documentation for your evaluation.

Are you GDPR compliant?

Many customers have GDPR-related requirements. Render offers a Data Processing Addendum (DPA), and we can support GDPR-aligned data processing arrangements for eligible customers/beta participants upon request.

We will provide details based on your use case and data categories.

What browsers are supported?

Project Datum is designed for the current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. If you encounter a browser-specific issue, please report it through in-app feedback.

Do you have mobile apps?

Project Datum is web-based today. Mobile usability improvements are in progress. Native iOS/Android apps (including offline-friendly features) are on our roadmap (target: Q4 2026). See our Roadmap page for current priorities.

How do beta participants provide feedback?

Beta participants can submit feedback directly inside the app (including screenshots) and we review that feedback to guide improvements. For beta support, we'll also provide direct contact methods shared during onboarding.
